You can volunteer at our games and events, join a local fan group, or even apply for an internship with the team. No matter how you choose to get involved, you become part of a growing community that shares a passion for American football and the development of youth sports in Uganda.
As part of our long-term vision to grow the game, we are also preparing for a landmark moment, the anticipated visit of Tom Brady to Uganda. His tour would be a historic opportunity to inspire young athletes, elevate awareness of American football and strengthen the integration of the sport within the school ecosystems across the country.
During his visit, we aim to organize school engagement programs where students, teachers, and coaches will be introduced to the fundamentals of American football, with a strong focus on NFL FLAG rules, concepts, and playbook basics. Schools will be encouraged to actively participate in flag football clinics, demonstrations, and friendly competitions designed to promote teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness.
The tour would include:
- Interactive coaching clinics in selected high schools
- Demonstrations of NFL FLAG rules, plays, and safety techniques
- Leadership talks and motivational sessions for student-athletes
- School tournaments to encourage active participation and competition
- Training for teachers and local coaches on how to run flag football programs
This initiative is not only about sport, but also about education and character development. By introducing structured American football programs into schools, we aim to build stronger pathways for youth development, encourage healthy lifestyles, and create opportunities for international exposure.
We believe that with the right partnerships and support, Uganda can become a leading hub for flag football development in Africa, and the Nakawa Buccaneers will continue to play a central role in driving this transformation.
