Coach Imran introduced himself and explained that:
- American football is still new in Uganda, and coaches there are still learning the technical and tactical aspects of the game.
- Many coaches and players are amateurs who are just beginning to understand how to teach and apply proper football systems, particularly for quarterbacks (QBs).
- They are still identifying people who can help them understand and execute what they learn from clinics and training sessions.
Then, his main question to Coach Peter Vaas was:
“What criteria do you use to identify good quarterbacks (QBs)? Because we have seen different types — for example, pocket passers and Dual faster QBs — so what makes a good quarterback in your experience?”
🏈 Coach Imran Engages in “Share The Knowledge” Sessions with Hope Through Football
Coach Imran, one of Uganda’s passionate American football coaches, has been an active participant in the “Share The Knowledge” Zoom meetings organized by Hope Through Football — an international coaching education platform led by experienced coaches such as Coach Peter Vaas, a veteran Quarterback (QB) coach from the USA.Through these virtual sessions, Coach Imran has gained valuable insights into the technical, tactical, and leadership aspects of American football, with a particular focus on developing quarterbacks and team systems. His participation highlights Uganda’s growing involvement in the global football coaching community and demonstrates a strong commitment to learning, growth, and international collaboration.

During one notable session, Coach Imran raised an important question about how coaches can identify and develop good quarterbacks — a key position that defines team performance. He shared the challenges faced by Ugandan coaches, who are still building experience and resources to effectively teach football fundamentals. His question opened meaningful dialogue on coaching philosophy, player evaluation, and adaptability in different football environments.
By engaging in the “Share The Knowledge” program, Coach Imran continues to represent Uganda’s emerging football community on the international stage.
